Tour Details: The Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation, or AzCATI, established in 2010 on ASU’s Polytechnic Campus in Mesa, is a leading testbed and research facility for algae innovation and is part of the Fulton Schools of Engineering.
When: October 15, 2026
Where: The AzCATI tour will be at the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building 3 (ISTB3) and fieldsite, located on the ASU Polytechnic Campus. The building address is 7418 E Innovation Way S, Mesa, AZ, 85212

Bus Pick-Up: The bus will be picking you up at the Graduate by Hilton Tempe located at 225 East Apache Boulevard, Tempe, AZ 85281 at 8AM sharp! Those of you who will self-drive, please note it is approximately a 45-minute drive given there is low traffic.
Once on site at AzCATI, the tour is expected to last approximately 2 hours. Note that weather in Mesa, AZ in October can still be warm and sunny and a good portion of the tour will be outdoors. Please wear closed toe shoes (no heals) as the site has grating and potential trip hazards. Taking photographs is welcome and encouraged. *Lunch will be provided on site.
The tour will include ample opportunities for questions and discussion with faculty and staff on specific research capabilities, research interests and equipment. There will be active cultivation experiments from several liter scale up to 20,000 L scale in multiple cultivation configurations from open ponds to closed photobioreactors to attached growth systems.
