The Algae Biomass Summit (ABS) is hosted by the Algae Biomass Organization (ABO), a non-profit trade association and the unified voice of the algae industry. ABO is the leading U.S. algae biomass association and hosts the world’s longest-standing algae-focused conference.

Working on behalf of all sectors, ABO advocates for algae-advancing policy and funding, serves as a hub for innovation and networking, and drives demand for “made with algae” products and services.

For 20 years, ABS has brought together commercial leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, policymakers, investors, and emerging innovators who share a passion for driving innovation forward and building the algae and seaweed economy.

The 2026 Algae Biomass Summit will take place October 12–15, 2026, in Tempe, Arizona, at Arizona State University’s Memorial Union. The agenda will deliver fresh perspectives, commercial breakthroughs, and exciting research that are propelling algae and seaweed products and services as vital solutions for a low-carbon, sustainable world.

This event convenes real-world buyers across algae markets including food and feed, carbon capture, sustainability, regenerative agriculture, wastewater, energy, education and academia, climate solutions, and more. ABS brings together decision-makers and thought leaders from around the world focused on algae and seaweed.

    Become an Exhibitor
Becoming an exhibitor at the Algae Biomass Summit is an opportunity to position your organization at the center of the algae industry’s premier gathering. The exhibit hall is where innovation meets opportunity, giving your company a platform to showcase technologies, products, and services while building meaningful connections with attendees from across academia, industry, government, and investment communities.

    Why It Matters
Exhibiting helps your organization stand out, attract attention, and engage directly with the people who matter most to your business. It is an effective way to increase visibility, generate new leads, strengthen your network, and reinforce your role as a supporter of algae innovation and commercialization.

    Supporting ABO’s Mission
Your investment as an exhibitor does more than support your own visibility at the Summit, it also supports ABO’s ongoing work to advocate for the algae industry, expand collaboration across sectors, and create opportunities for the entire algae community to grow and succeed.

The 20th Algae Biomass Summit will take place October 12-15, 2026 at Arizona State University’s Memorial Union in Tempe, Arizona.

The Algae Biomass Summit (ABS) is hosted by the Algae Biomass Organization (ABO), a non-profit trade association and unified voice of the algae industry. ABO is the leading U.S. algae biomass association, the longest-standing algae organization in the world, and host of the longest-running algae-focused conference globally. Working on behalf of all sectors, ABO advocates for algae-advancing policy and funding, serves as a hub for innovation and networking, and drives demand for “made with algae” products and services.

In 2026, ABO proudly celebrates 20 years of convening the global algae community through the Algae Biomass Summit. For two decades, the ABS has united commercial leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, policymakers, investors, and young innovators who share the same passion to drive innovation forward and build the algae and seaweed economy.

This premier event brings together industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and innovators to explore breakthroughs in algae and seaweed applications, from sustainable food and feed to carbon capture and regenerative agriculture. With a focus on driving a low-carbon future, the Summit offers unparalleled opportunities for networking, showcasing advancements, and fostering partnerships that propel the algae industry forward.

Keynote speakers, panel discussions, technical talks, poster presentations, and networking opportunities give attendees access to the most current trends and meaningful connections across the algae value chain, no matter where you are in the world. We hope you will join us in October in Arizona.

The young Innovators Lounge meet and greet session will be a partially structured networking and Q&A event. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask YIL mentors, or "Algae Sages", questions about general career advice, details about different domains (industry vs. academia vs. national lab vs. government), things they wish they knew when they were just starting out, etc. The discussion will be lightly moderated to keep the conversation moving, but attendees are encouraged to ask questions in an informal conversational environment. This is also an opportunity for YIL mentors to pitch employment opportunities within their network, whether they or someone they know is recruiting bright and inquisitive young algae innovators. Individuals at all stages of their career are welcome to attend the session, whether they are looking to receive advice, share their opinions, or find their next employee or job opportunity.

Tour: The Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation, or AzCATI, established in 2010 on ASU’s Polytechnic Campus in Mesa, is a leading testbed and research facility for algae innovation and is part of the Fulton Schools of Engineering.

Our vision is for algae technology to make major contributions within the food-energy-water nexus to producing renewable fuels, food, feed and higher value products while performing environmental services in the form of treatment technologies for various carbon and nutrient rich waste streams. All in support of the circular economy and a more sustainable future for society

AzCATI’s mission is to serve as a national algae testbed to accelerate the advancement of algae technology development and commercialization through innovative research, education, and collaboration.

As part of the Algae Biomass Summit, we are offering the opportunity to tour the Arizona Center for Algae Technology and Innovation (AzCATI) research and development testbed in Mesa, AZ.

The tour will include ample opportunities for questions and discussion with faculty and staff on specific research capabilities, research interests and equipment.

Once on site at AzCATI, the tour is expected to last approximately 2 hours. Note that weather in Mesa, AZ in October can still be warm and sunny and a good portion of the tour will be outdoors. Please wear closed toe shoes (no heals) as the site has grating and potential trip hazards. Taking photographs is welcome and encouraged.

The tour will include visiting AzCATI’s state of the art laboratory and five-acre outdoor testbed with greenhouses.

There will be active cultivation experiments from several liter scale up to 20,000 L scale in multiple cultivation configurations from open ponds to closed photobioreactors to attached growth systems.
